Nice!

I've got my two Doepfer A-100 systems on opposites sides of my studio like that, too.

At first, I thought "Shouldn't these be like closer together? I mean, isn't that what modular's all about?"

But the two independent systems balance out the space and interconnect on other levels. If I really need them to connect physically, I could use ethernet cables. But so far, I've not felt a need to do that.

You should find a home for that Doepfer A-127. That's a great module!
The A-127 is a superb module. In combination with a wavetable osc and three modulators to move independently up and down the three filter resonances can produce some nice evolving ambient textures. I use it quite often.

By the way each module is orphan only for a limited time because at some moment they replace some current module in a case.

Thank you

I enjoy very much every photo you post of your gear and place. Very nice

I don't really feel that modular is all about as many modules as possible.
As stated before, I never miss anything when I'm using my filled case. I'm actually a bit conscious about the fact that there are several modules in that case that I rarely use.

The number of modules isn't what I was thinking about, but rather their proximity such that they could be used together.

The ability of one module to interact with another is what modular is all about for me. That is more difficult to do with my two systems on opposite sides of the room. But as I said, they can still interact in other ways.

So, the (first ) case is full ... Now I need to experiment with the ergonomics and topology ...

So far it's been a joy to play with.

Lukewarm, I’d say. Nothing that will give you burns. I’m more worried about breaking them, if I where to drop my phone or something like that.

Okay, cool. I'm used to amp tubes; those things get searing hot.

the plastic cover to the spring comes off and you can muck around with the springs if you like. stick a paperclip in there or dampen it with a piece of foam etc.. changes the character of the verb though my experience w/that module is it's way more "tube" than it is "reverb" which can be a good thing really. it takes tweaking like most/all metasonix stuff but usually there's a great payoff to that tweaking

Yeah, the feedback function is crazy! I've ordered a big, external tank. It'll be interesting to try it out with this module. I think it'll be way more versatile with a bigger tank.

Maybe, maybe not. My Dot Com had a small tank compared to my Music Thing Reverb, and I found that I was getting a lot more use out of the small tank.

...I need to stop buying stupid shiz and rebuild my Dot Com.

I built my spring for the reverb. What I didn't realize was how cool and musical the feedback controls are. Think being a that great guitarist who knows their amp and how to drive into feedback zone after using it for 10 years, maybe Bauhaus / Daniel Ash. That's the sound you can get out of a good spring.

Waddayamean you 'built your spring'?

You somehow found or fabbed the literal Springs inside the "tank" themselves, or built a whole tank from scratch somehow, or what?

Very curious.

It's not that hard to do. It's pretty much just a amp to drive the spring, and a contact mic on the back end to pick up the vibrations. There's a few DIY sites that have instructions for building your own, including some made with a Slinky for extra cool points.

Right on.

Fun.

(Adds something else to list of stuff to do)

My spring reverb was a nice, simple, DIY project ...

The main system as it stands right now. Built everything in the upper case (except the Mutant Brain, Modcans, IJ 1U, 2HP modules and Malekko mixer) and the Ripples and Serge in the lower case myself.

Going to move the pedal interface to the bottom case, get another one and use the case I/O instead of the jack breakout panel. The Befaco slew is getting changed with a STMix im building. I also think to switch out the (OG) Tides with a Xaoc Zadar, as I need more envelopes and the L1 dual envelope I have is too HP-hungry. Also wondering if I should change the RESEQ for the RandomSource version; then I could fit a Buchla 295 clone and together with the RandomSource eq it would eat exactly the space my fancy ResEQ does today. But those sliders are fun to play!

I`m a little torn on further expansion; I really want to try out the new Doepfer poly modules (adsr/vca/filter) together with the Orgone`s to make a 4-voice modular poly. But then some stuff needs to go out... and I still need a bunch of utilities...

Before you hate on all the micro-modules: the idea for the modular is to have an external smaller control system next to my Octatrack that will control the main patch elements I want to change during a recording. Thinking about a combo of the 16n Faderbank, ADDAC Transition controller and a bunch of vca`s, switches, attenuators/offsets and summing mixers. Tips are welcome

Yeah, I'm a big fan. And it's hard to beat the combo of real and programmed percussion.

So much easier and more effective than trying to program all the humanity back into the machine(s), too. It gives my imperfections purpose.

Mannnn, I had briefly forgotten about your Moog rig. That thing is glorious, and gloriously GASy. I've had my own similar idea mapped out on paper and in MGrid for a few years now, then I photoshop what Modular Grid won't do. I've gotten that far, but it keeps falling behind legitimately higher gear priorities. I might still get to it one day.

That one of yours is ceazy cool. A home-run.
