Weiss EQ1+DS1 "MK-1" (max 48khz) : HELP NEEDED

Hi,

I see an offer for the Weiss EQ1 and DS1 for 2000$ each.
These are the first models, max 48khz.

If i take both for 4000$ the seller offers a Lucid AD/DA converter !
I think it is interesting, isn't it ?

does the EQ1 work in MS mode ??? this is very important !

I know the DS1 is updatable, is it possible with the EQ1 ?

I already have a phoenix with the sidechain kit, a API 2500 and a Massive passive. The DS1 and EQ1 can be perfect to complete, this offer looks nice to me.

Thanks for your advices

I have both of these units but they work up to 96k. While I don't master 88.2 and 96k mixes every day, I do a few every month.

Both of the units are very important to my work and I'd hate to not have the same flexibility at the higher sample rates as the lower!

So I'd check with Daniel Weiss to see if they both can be updated. Otherwise, just buy the one that can be.

BTW, my EQ1 does work in MS mode. A very nice option for the EQ1, if you are into upgrading, is the Dynamic mode. In fact, that's all I ever use the EQ1 for, dynamic eq-ing!

Not buying an EQ1 mk1 for 900 quid when I started buying gear is still one of my biggest regrets.

Weiss EQ1 MK2 and (more so) DS1 MK3 are still essential here.

Especially with the trend towards maxed out plugin-saturated mixes that don't fare well going back through analog.
