Fabfilter Pro-Q here. Most of my EQing is typically done with my Sontec MEP250EX but the Pro-Q gets a good amount of use as well. Sounds great (like most other properly coded "clean" digital minimum phase EQ's). Its linear phase mode in highest quality is excellent too, although I very rarely find myself using it in linear phase mode.

Lots of great feature like M/S, "intelligent solo mode", different selectable display ranges (3dB, 6dB, 12dB or 30dB), adjustable built in frequency analyzer, etc. Also the interface is very easy to operate and looks great. Basically everything I want/need in a clean digital EQ plugin.

Sonoris Parallel EQ maybe should be on there, it's lovely Voted Plpareq, MP usually, but sometimes LP.

I voted the Algorithmix Red, because it's just so smooth and gentle sounding in the high mids and tops. It would have tied with the EQ from TC Electronic's MD3 if that had been in the poll. I use that a lot for low and mid work.

Yes the parallel eq should be listed as that is my most often go to. Mastering eq/Par eq like the simplistic interface, m/s capabilities for each band when required, and stellar clean quality.

Fabfilter Pro-Q gets the most use here. I keep it in minimum phase mode and I've noticed the linear phase modes can introduce distortion on certain program material.

It's highly intuitive, easy on the eyes, very flexible, and quick to work with.

Digital Plugin EQ Poll - 2011

I'm glad I don't have to pick just one! With a gun to my head, I'd actually take apeq (apulsoft).

I mostly use the LP10, great sounding eq.
Tried Apulsoft (demo)and FabFilter ProQ (expired license) , which are also superb and love the quick way M/S works on both.

Can you change the Sonoris listing: the Sonoris LP is in the Mastering EQ (same EQ)

You need to add the SPEQ - which I will then vote for ...

Cheers,

Eric

Still loving PSP Neon here.

Very easy to use, in FAT mode is the more transparent cutting tool I have heard. Love PSP as a company to and I get the impression it can only get better with updates too.

EQuick Not really EQuality but.. yes.. for EQuality users it's a bit like the better Pro-Q heh

Definitely. I love PSP and they're nice guys too. You would love PLPar if you love HR btw. But, no more support, sadly.

I know it may be early days, but I was really expecting Sonoris and DMG to be right out in front having read many posts about ITB EQ over the past year or two.
Pro-Q in the lead I find somewhat surprising... not that it is in any way a poor quality plugin, but just that I had not noticed it get so much love in threads.....

Interesting.

You forgot SonicEQ (Sonic Studio), probably the granddaddy of them all, and still sounding great.

Runs as VST or DSP on Metric Halo/Sonic Studio boxes.

My favorite heh

Sonnox Oxford EQ gets a big thumbs up too.

Cheers,
Thor

First thought: the Massenburg MDW eq on the TC 6000.
Otherwise the Sonnox EQ.

But I've voted Flux Epure.

bests,

Aka apeq btw.. I forget that they changed the name...

+1 for brainworx. Sick plug!

But apeq is very verstile, has multiple over sampling options, has amazingly honed gui w zoomable interface, multiple options for handling overs, m/s mode and initializes w no filter bands: each instance is fully user created. In ky opinion it is the single best surgical tool available. It might lack a bit in the mojo department, but you can still boost the hell out of 12k without hating life. So, again, on a desert island, I would wish for this one first.

Whilst it sounds great, it's horses for courses. Nebula is effectively used as a soft hardware insert, not as a replacement for digital eq. Analogue & / or Nebula isn't always the best solution for every task.
