Setting up mastering studio, need advice.

Long time lurker, new member, love the forum, has been a plethora of good advice!

I am interested in getting some speakers dedicated for mastering and have a budget of around $3K. I've been looking at getting these:

Polk Audio - LSi Series Loudspeakers

You can follow the link on the top right hand of the page to get to the tech specs, they seem pretty good but I am still dubious! I am heading out this week to have a listen to them and a range of other speakers before I buy, but any advice you guys could offer would be great!!

Cheers

I haven't heard them, the specs could be a little more informative, but the tweeter looks good

A few general tips: when you compare them and other speakers, take the room / listening conditions into account. Assuming you can't audition them in your own space, position them as you would place them in your setup. There are many aspects to speakers, but the most important ones are 'do you hear the detail you want/need to hear' and 'do they sound right to you'.

Let us know how they sound.

I've been a fan of Polk speakers for years.
Real bang for the buck. They may be voiced to impress
the listener rather than being brutally accurate.
