I'm trying to wrap my head around this stuff. Basically I want to see what kind of gain reduction setting I will get with a specific analog compressors threshold range when using Mytek converters (DAC96, ADC96).
What is the maximum dBu the DAC96 can output at 0dBFS?
What dBu does DAC96 output at 0dbFS in its default mode?
I might have figured it out from the original post. If the Mytek defaults to -15dBFS = +4dbU that means in its default mode it operates at +19dBu at 0dBFS. Is that correct?
I've calibrated it differently, as you can see - so I don't.
After about 2 years of use (this original post is from 2009) I had to trim the calibration screws this morning. The inputs on 3-4 and 7-8 fluctuated about 0.1 dB (which I've ignored for some time since it's of little practical relevance and I don't clip it anyway), but DAC 1 took a drop when I moved something in my console. Ok, there was some slamming. :-D
I'm probably going to seal the trims next time I open it since they're a bit sensitive. Anyone know what to use for sealing? I don't think my wife's nail polish will do.
Old Post¡¡¡
I have calibrated my Mytek 8x192 at -20db=0Vu=1.228 volts. Two weeks after it have lost the measure... I found the trimpots very sensitives...How I can solve this problem? Calibrating and fixing the pots with nail painting?
Thanks
