Would you be happy with a STUDER A810 1/4' or any other 1/4' in general for mastering?

The A820 and the A80 had the highest quality transports. The A810 shares audio cards with the A820. The transport isn’t as good as an A820.

The A810 is a great machine though. I had one and thought it sounded good. It does four speeds which is a nice feature. The older broadcast machines like a B67 only do two speeds.

I can be wrong but I don't think they even made A810 in 1/2"

You are corrrect. The A820 did and could use up to 14" diameter reels. That is why the A820 has a sturdier mechanical system.

FWIW, B67 is a three speed machine. 33/4, 71/2, 15, or 71/2, 15, 30ips.
