Masterpiece II? Is this a pre-order that you've committed yourself to?
Don't think I'd ever get rid of mine. Somebody should snatch this up.

Bruce

Good-luck. It's a great piece!

It's probably an original Masterpiece with outboard supply upgrade. Basically the same except for the LP/HP filter mod.

Hi!
It was bought little before Christmas last year. I thought it was to noisy and then sended it back and they upgraded to the newer chassi and installed the outboard power
supply.
It´s a great piece, it just doesn´t fit to my chain right know.

Cheers

So just to be clear, is it a "real" Materpiece II, or is it an original Masterpiece?

Hey Masterpeice dudes: with the new version can you access modules individually? Or is it still a stereo, stereo out only box?

The main module is stereo, but you can use either the left or right channel as a mono signal. It's not a "linked" stereo unit. You can use the modules individually. That's what I plan to do in my Post room. If I want to run a mic through the EQ or Comp section I can.

You can use it as split 2-channels.

Hello!
There is an old chassi and a new chassi. The new one has an outboard powersupply.
So the one that i have is the newer version. [email protected] is the person at Legendaryaudio that can answer any question about the Masterpiece. (a great guy)
If it is true that you now can get a masterpiece without fans I will not sell mine. (I check that with Billy).

Cheers

I can definitely see where having fan noise coming from the same chassis as the processors controls are located for a mastering processor would be a major deal killer!!! Hopefully Legendary Audio can give you an upgrade to a fanless chassis for cheap or free so you can actually get good use out of your Masterpiece.

Dunno. I get such unique results from the MP that I wouldn't care if it belched at me and slept with my wife.

You have to put your head inside to hear any fans.

The new chassis and outboard supply are quiet.

hmmm... that might be taking love for a piece of gear a little bit too far for me.

Yeah - since the issue has never been mentioned by anyone else before I guess I should have figured this was the case.

The Masterpiece I heard (which had the fans) was for sure noisy. Noisier than my computer..

How can it be a Masterpiece with noisy fans?

I'm shocked...

hahahahahha!!
Now, that's funny.. and quite true, if i may add.
I completely concur.

I haven't found anything that can match the versatility of my masterpiece. None..
It's the v.II and boy o' boy, its a cool puppy!
Before the masterpiece, it wasn't so much a hassle to get into the zone, but a long arduous affair. Now, it's an absolute breeze, and the challenge is pleasurable, for me and the client.

I was always keen on the masterpiece: but after having read Allan's statement, I quote "I would not be at all surprised if history shows the Masterpiece to be the best analog mastering EQ of our time." That was it for me. Boom! I just bought it. Never having even tested it or physically hearing it. Just the DVD and few articles and I was sold.

And let me tell you, not a regret in the world.
Hats off to Billy Stull and Sir Rupert Neve.
