Acon software

The new ACON Acoustica 7.1 is out. Acon Digital | Audio Editing Software They offer a 30 day trial. It is a very good piece of software and they include their Noise Reduction and Mastering Plugins as part of the package.

Just thought others would like to know about another good editing program. FWIW

funny, never really heard of it before. At first look it's a bit like RX?

That is the problem and it is a nice piece of software for the price.

Acon's restoration suite is awesome. I've been demoing it, and I'm going to buy it.

Stian definitely has a talent for DSP and an ear for nice and natural sound - based on my experience with Equalize (in mixed-phase mode) and Verberate. Verberate is my go-to for extending or smoothing bad fadeouts in mastering, whenever that's necessary. It's sort of an underdog as a mixing reverb, beating out nearly everything else I have for convincing smaller ambience and halls. Not sure why it doesn't get more attention.

Haven't tried his other offerings, thanks for the heads up!

Thanks Thomas. Price to performance this software looks fantastic.

I’ll be trying it out but for the price and what’s included it looks like a real no brainer.

Been wanting someone to do a comparison shootout/review of this vs RX for ages.

If I recall correctly, there is a small amount of talk about these two products in some of the Acon threads, where Stian actually ends up improving the sound of one of the restoration processors.

I tried some Acon NR software several months ago, and it was buggy as hell. I'm glad I tried the demo before deciding on a purchase. Maybe things have changed since then, but I don't plan on switching from RX anytime soon.

Been using the Restoration suite (alongside RX) some time now, it's great!

Equalize has some nice curve-bending features that's cool!

Been using the ACON software for two weeks and no bugs. What system were you running it on Mac or PC and OS? Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear that. Was that Acoustica or the plug-ins? We'll be happy to look into it if you could send us a support ticket or send me a personal message here. Please include product and OS version. Thanks!

Best,
Stian

Love the restoration suite even got them to buy at work. Clicky mouth noises are always a problem with compression and helps......
