True peak level retaining.

When viewing the true peak level readings of some 16 bit 44.1 wav music releases with Youlean (in Wavosaur) some of them display around +5/6db true peak or there abouts.

After I export something (all done ITB) to a 16 bit 44.1 wav, which initially gives a true peak reading of approx. +8db in the project, when I then view it with Youlean it's reduced to around +3db true peak.

How could the higher true peak levels be achieved/retained?

I have thought of maybe 1 or 2 reasons as to how or why with some releases there can be higher true peak level read outs but just wondered if anyone else has any ideas/suggestions.

Cheers.
