Does converting a mono file to stereo introduce phase problems?

Hello,

Does taking a single mono recording and duplicating it to stereo(L&R channels are 100% identical) create any phase problems when played back on a stereo system?

no - but listening back to mono on two speakers (creating a phantom center) sounds a bit different from listening to a single mono (center) speaker
