show me your work with a spotify playlist!

I think it would be cool to know a little better what you're working on and what you've already done.
however, i don't find the search based on customer lists and photos of covers as you find them in many portfolios as practical and that's why i made a spotify-playlist of some of my masters.

i would be happy to find some of your work playlists in this thread.

Great Idea. Do you know if this is possible without a paid Spotify subscription? I just tried using Spotify with my facebook login and it looks like they're auto-filling my playlist with related content every time I add a song.

Edit: You can, it's just the ios app that was being a little weird.

Edit #2 : Here's mine, I actually had one from a few years back that's a bit out of date. Will update it a little now and add some more later:

Yes it is possible.
There is few "auto" playlist but you should be able to make your own without any external interference.

i've taken only one song from every artist to show the spectrum.
to avoid discussions with the artists, i go relatively strong after number of streams with a slight focus on age of the release and musical diversity.

You can find it in my signature.

A year ago started a jazz netlabel based on live recordings with audience in a small jazz club. We release monthly and covers from be bop to funk, modern...

I don't do the Spotify on principal, but it's easy to check Discogs and BandCamp to find many examples of my work.

Listening to the work of all of you is really inspiring !! Thank you

And as Teebaum said in an other thread, it brings a deeper perspective around anyone's thought about gear.
To me it's really cool

(And I know Spotify is terrible about how artists (our clients) get paid and they could also stream lossless content)
Maybe we should all buy a share of the company (not kiding that much here)

EDIT : Spotify's share's current value is around 182/185$

i'm with hermetech, i don't do spotify on principle, but how about we all go in and form our own co-op streaming service for our clients?

we've no shortage of good material, the rest should be simple enough, right?

sorry, but each of your customers decides on which platforms their music should be accessible. the mastering engineer has nothing to do with this decision.
if his music is accessible via a streaming service, he will also welcome it to appear in playlists.

over 95% of my customers decide to be available through streaming services.

the others usually do it with a certain delay as soon as sales drop.

if your titles are not available via streaming, they can logically not be in my playlist.

i don't see what's wrong with such a playlist and have received only positive and not even one negative feedback from my customers.

so it should be obvious that i don't force them to do something when i make a playlist. the only thing i do with it is to present their work a wider time - something every artist appreciates who publishes.

Several clients suggested a Spotify playlist on my credit list, so I added one when I updated my website:
Credits | Mastering engineer Holger Lagerfeldt · Testimonials

Direct link, remember to open the list in the Spotify app itself rather than the crap browser preview:
Lagerfeldt public playlist

I add new tracks and delete other tracks once in a while to keep the example selection from bloating.

PS. I agree Spotify sucks donkey balls, but it's here to stay.

Fair enough, our experiences are our experiences, but I personally won't be supporting Spotify any time soon. If that makes me a Luddite or loses me "exposure" then so be it. I feel some things are more important. Sorry for getting thing OT!

I can sympathize with that standpoint. I think it's important to follow your heart.

I didn't use or install Spotify until very recently for the same reason.

However, it's become so ubiquitous that's it's hard to avoid. And since almost everything I master lands on Spotify I have to use Spotify at least once in a while.

For my personal music consumption I mostly still buy CD's and occasionally iTunes downloads when I have no other choice.
