Lyra Vs. Lyra 2 for Mastering Converter

Does anyone have any insight into the differences?

I see with the Lyra 1 I'd be using the 1/4" line-ins. Is that detrimental to the sonic integrity? They're the same conversion wise, right?

I'm looking to get a nice converter to clip a bit on the way back in from my analogue mastering chain.

Make sure to keep in mind that the Lyra 1 has two line in and two line out channels so if you want to monitor from post analog round trip and processing ITB you will need to use the digital outputs from the Lyra and have another DAC of quality available for monitoring.

If you get the Lyra 2, this is not as large of a concern for you have more analog ins and outs than the Lyra 1.

Another potential option would be something like the Hilo or Pure 2 which have an extra DAC for monitoring to go with the 2 analog ins and outs.

Forgive my ignorance,
Why can't I monitor what I am laying back through the Lyra 1's 1/2 analog outputs?

Edit: OHHH I see what you're saying. Sorry, I must not have made it clear that I'll only be using the Lyra for printing. I use a Symphony for I/O on my main computer. This Lyra will be printing to my laptop at 96/24.
