Anybody use this patch bay?

Hosa PHB265

http://www.hosatech.com/hosa/products/PHB-265.html

I am considering getting a patch bay, and like the switchable modes on the front of the bay per pair. Anyone use of these before? How durable is it, and how are those switches? I dont have a lot of gear to be patched, so I would like to start off small on the patch bay...

Thanks

sdf

As a general rule of thumb....

I don't touch anything hosa!!!

I do have re'an and neutrik patchbays.... and i realized that once i buy all the trs plugs to use on the back of them, i could have just bought a bantam bay or something and not spend much more money...

Or at least a nice switchcraft t.r.s. bay.

I too try to stay away from the ho-ass gear, but...them switches just look so convienant, right on the front and I can switch modes as needed...

I did a search on patch bays here, and alot of people were having problems w/ the plastic jacks breaking and/or losing the contact. And that was w/ the neutrik ones too, altho not everyone. I didnt find squat on the hosa.

Any other suggestions, or real use w/ the hosa?

thanks

Also, i just looked back at it and it said it's unbalanced, but "will pass balanced signal when it's set to denormalled".

I have had no trouble with the APE's (~$50) or Behringer (PX1000) unit...they were $30-ish...balanced.

Going on 8 years with the APE and about 2 or 3 with the B's.

If you are worried about the name, Neutrik has their ~$90 unit.

I use mine for home recording so I could care less who makes it as long as they are trouble free.

Good luck,
David
