Hey Henry! It's Mike Dunn from the old MOTU-MAC mail list. You still working out of John's place up there? How's the family doing?

Hey Mike! I thought that might've been you. Subspace from Too Sun?? How's it going?

Things are great here. I'm only sometimes at John's space now. I've been building my own. Since for the time being I don't have a real room I'm putting together a respectable remote rig. But if I have a full band going I get a ridiculous rate over there.

Still have that Trident?

Building your own? Aww, that's a shame, they say the mind's the first thing to go...
You can see I'm perpetually building here as well in the "Show and tell" thread. Still got that Trident...

I kind of like playing with mic modeler, but it's not worth the money. If it were a $70 plug, I'd have it.

Gasmask from 1941 that i mounted the earpiece from a pay phone somebody had gotten mad at inside of as a mic....it rocks

i need a kick mic and i'd love to have either a pair of 4047's or a u195...i think the 4047s would be slightly more versital...but i still would wish for a *nice* vocal mic. i want the 4047s for overheads as my 137s don't cut it all the time, i want something darker.

any suggestions for me? i've only got about 1500 to spend on getting a kick mic and either 2 decent LDCs or 1 nice LDC

I have used them on a number of things, including vocs., Drum O/H's, Drum room, AC GTR, and AC Bass. They have performed well on all of the above and I am always thinking of other things to use them on. To me they have a very natural uncolored sound and seem to work well with a many different mic pres as well.
