Square State Vs BLA AM/CH 1 EQ

Looking at getting 2 channels of inductor based Eqs for less than a thousand. The Square State looks good but the BLA AM/CH 1, though not as sexy looking has 4 bands, adjustable Q, and transformers. Both are about the same price for 2 channels. Which sounds or works better for broad strokes? I know the Square State is probably capable of more radical settings. Any advice?

I have not tried the BLA. All I know is I love my pair of SSSS EQs! I can boost all the way all day with theese. No more "cut only" here. But they are not very surgical: bands are a bit too wide and tend to remove or add too much in the area around leaving the sound too shrill, boomy, peaky or thin. And there is actually not too many frequency points to choose from for that. But I do a lot of mild attenuation of uglyness combined with adding some sparkling or punch: you can "fix it in a tone shaping way"! They are sooo darn good sounding for all kinds of drums, and most stuff in general. Bring transients really near up front intimate highs stuff.

That was what I was afraid of when looking at the info. on the Square State. I'm leaning more toward the AM/CHA1 now.
