Cheapest I can get into some parametric EQ for live vocal processing?

Hey...

on the advice of a much better engineer than myself, i'm looking into getting some parametric eq units for use live. what's the low end on this? I use the dbx 266xl for my compression needs live, and i'm looking for the parametric eq equivalent. i'm just looking for clean. doing some weird things with vocals, but that doesn't require any color or anything.

thanks!

I can't run a laptop system live, due to latency on the vocals.

Yep, the EQ3B. Probably the least expensive decent unit you'll find. It's a single channel, btw.

if you use ebay, you can get a used Aphex 109 for around $100 or less. Also a DBX 242 for around $125 or so. both are quality pieces.

Simply not true. Maybe you could, in the past. But 242's are since I've been watching, nonexistent.

I picked up a 242 a few months ago right here on GS for just over a hundred euros... they're out there. Worth holding out for.

yeah i haven't seen the dbx's around. they may have been prevalent on ebay a few years ago, but when i've seen them pop up they are pretty pricey.

i'm going to snag 3 of the presonus units, i believe. that should work for my needs.

thanks guys!

+1... keep your eyes open and you should find some. Maybe they're harder to find now that the word is getting out... shhhhh! heh

They are definitely near impossible to find. I've only seen one or two in the past 7-8 months and they sold for way too much.
