Angry Annoying Clocking Problem

Hey guys, i have a really annoying problem i was hoping someone could help me out with - at the moment im recording a band with a 003 and Alesis AI3 converter and every time i change from optical clocking to internal the pitch changes even tho the session is in 48/24 any ideas on whats going wrong? btw im running protools 9 on a 27" imac

I would keep with internal for clocking. This happens every time you open that session?

I change it because for some reason the Ai3 will not work unless your clocking to it.

oh sorry, the converter is at a studio and im doing the mix down at home.

do you have a word clock option? BNC cable is a better clocking source than optical/spdif. wc out of alesis to the wc in of the 003. set the clock source to word clock in pt9 and you shouldnt have any problems

Do you have The ADAT Optical run for both "in" and "out" when you are using it? The AI3 will slave to the 003 but it needs both cables, and leave the 003 on internal.
