Question Trion 8000 - PSRF Project Studio Reflexion Filter --- Are either of these any good???

The bottom line questions

1.) The Trion 8000: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...tern_Tube.html
  • Is it good? Good in general? Good for the price? Good for a budget tube mic? Would I be better off getting a new $250 condenser? (I have an MXL 990s now) etc.

2.) The sE Electronics PSRF Project Studio Reflexion Filter:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...REFLEXION.html
  • Is it good? Would it help my room which has not been treated in any way (intentionally)? Would it actually improve the quality of my recordings? etc.

It just so happens that they come to total EXACTLY $418...

And I have EXACTLY $418 I made by selling my new CD. The CD was alright. I'm a good musician and my brother and I are really good singers so the actual music made up for the somewhat low quality recordings. I need to upgrade my home studio.

Please help me in any way you can.

Thanks,
Dirk P.

P.S. - I am going off to college and we are a military family - so that's why I'm not willing to "treat" my room acoustically. Because we will move. Soon.

...the Trion 8000 is not bad...depends what you're paying for it...$200 or less?...OK...more than that, there are much better options...I would suggest spending a bit more on the mic, and less on the isolator...you may have to save a few more dollars to get the best options at this pricepoint...
