Here for the gear

Recommendations of your favourite gear!

I am wanting people to recommend me some gear for outboard that is absolutely vital to their mix! I need some new outboard (I don't have that much to spend so keep it cheap)
What makes your mix sound good by using this cheap outboard equipment... Please let me know

My price range is no more than $200

Buy a Focusrite Liquid Mix 16. Not outboard, but a decent use of $200

I'll add 3 that will work
ART Pro Channel 180.00
FMR RNC 188.00
The Radial X-Amp re amp box under 200

but say you were to bring that to 300 instead

Joemeek ThreeQ 249.00
ART Pro VLA 300.00
presonus Studio Channel 300.00
Focusrite TrakMaster Pro 300.00
gap 73 300.00
ART ProMPA II 269.99
The Lexicon MX400 300.00
The TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor 300.00

and thats not even what you could get used

also RNLA, radial JDI or J48, used dbx 160X or XT, used symetrix 501

if you can build things or are willing to try (this one's pretty easy), then the Classic Audio Products of Illinois make wonderful 500 series preamp kits for $200, and there's the Seventh Circle Audio C84 that's also really nice. these are High End preamps at Low End price

spring reverbs like the Pioneer SR-101, Furman RV-1 can be nice

I constantly see UAD-1 cards going for $100, which would leave another $100 towards non-standard plugins for it...a lot of engineers consider the UAD comps and eq's indispensable...I bet you could find someone on here who would sell a UAD-1 along with some good extra plugs for $200.
