replacing a&h gl-2400 with soundtracs pc-midi?

hello all, glad to join this forum.

i like my a&h quite well, apart from the internal psu, which is too noisy.
tried to replace the fan for a better one, but it´s still too loud.
the a&h external psu should be quiet, but it´s quite expensive.

i could sell the a&h and get a 24 channel soundtracs pc-midi (good condition, silent psu) instead. probably that would be cheaper in the end.
being modular the soundtracs seems to be quite easy to repair as well.

i´m not experienced enough to quickly test a console for myself - so could you give me some opinions on the soundtracs and the sonic differences to the gl2400?

btw i don´t need the mic preamps so much, i´m doing experimental electronic music most of the time.
