Komplete 7 vs Logic pro instruments?

I have logic pro 8 on a powermac pro g5 and was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to komplete 7. Is it worth it?
Are they much better than the logic pro instruments?

Thanks!

I think so - I haven't touched the logic instruments since I got Komplete 7. In fact, I don't think I've touched logic since I can run Komplete 7 in PT!

I think it's not the tools but how you use them?

If you want to create professional tracks then the price of admission shouldn't really be an obstacle.

I would consider upgrading your G5 to an intel

and there's nothing wrong with the logic nor the NI offerings, both can get professional results.

+1

Alot of the patches and instruments that come with Komplete are going to give your G5 a serious headache. I also think that some of the plugins won't even work on your G5. I know at least Kontakt is Intel only... and IMO that's a MAJOR player in the Komplete bundle.

+1 again.

Although IMO, if you're strictly talking about 'instruments', Logic (8 or 9) can't hold a candle to Komplete 7. However, that has nothing to do with getting 'pro results'........ argue away....

My powermac G5 has 750gb hard drive. 4GB RAM and is qua core. Will it still suffer??
If the instruments are better wouldn't it create more professional tracks?
Thanks!

Someone was saying on another thread (I don't know if its true) that Lady Gaga's stuff is all done on Logic instruments. Even if this isn't true, the potential is there.

Logic's instruments are really good, you don't NEED any better to make a huge multiplatinum selling album. Native instruments instruments are really good too, actually I would say they are better in their usability and their features. However you could make a professional track with a rubber band and some chop sticks if you wanted.

My points were that Logic's instruments are professional, and that if by "professional" you mean "money earning" then the Native Instruments ones are so cheap that it's a no brainer.

Just my $0.02 (late), but as an owner of both logic 9 and komplete 6, i have to say that both packages offer the same suite of synths, with different GUI's and different preset banks. You can get the same sounds out of both packages. The only reason i ever swap is just to force myself to work a little differntly to stir up creative juices.

FWIW.
