Beta testing mackie onyx 400f windows 7 drivers

Good Day,

We are very pleased to announce the immediate opening of an Onyx 400F Private Beta Test Group, and we have hand-selected you as a potential test candidate for this software update!

Our internal testing team has validated core functionality of the Onyx 400F using the new driver with Windows 7 32- and 64-bit versions, and – as a current 400F owner running Windows 7 – we would love to have your assistance in further validating the functionality of this software prior to its public release. Our customers’ long term support is very important to us, and core customer-validation is critical to our success. Having said that, the amount of time you put into testing is entirely up to you. Yet, of course, the more time you put in, the better and more accurate the results will be for the Mackie Recording community.

As this will be a Private Beta, we would first require that you sign and return the attached nondisclosure agreement in order to receive the Beta software package. The spirit of this agreement is simply to keep discussion items concerning the Beta build between us. It will not, however, prevent you from speaking about past or future public releases of Onyx 400F software, should you be inclined to do so.

As we are obviously very excited to get this release into the field as soon as possible, we appreciate your prompt response upon reviewing, signing and returning the attached NDA agreement to [email protected] (or in reply to the above e-mail address, or faxed to +1(425)487-4334). Thereafter, we will sign and return the document for your records, and send you the (Beta) driver update as soon as possible.

Above all, we want to thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
The Mackie Digital Development Team

Got a buddy of mine thinking about buying one of these two and since I have no experience with either I wanted to ask... Which one do you prefer in terms of preamps and stability?
Thanx

Nothing but praise for the Blackbird here. Very solid build quality. Sounds great for the money. Works flawlessly.

Sorry about dragging up an old thread, I hate to start new ones if there is already multiple old threads on an item, so anyways I love to use this forum as a base to research equipment, form a plan, and idea on a piece of gear before purchasing.

So I have been looking long and hard in on line reviews and video's for the best 2x2 interface for my home studio.. most get horrible reviews which is suprising.

I looked long and hard at most of the ones in my price range ($400), it finally came down to the Propellerhead Balance $369, or the Mackie Onyx Blackjack.

I found one of these Onyx's for $150 on e-bay and decided that was enough and pulled the trigger, will pick it up next week sometime, once integrated I will put it through it's paces with a couple of synths and microphones etc and come back and let y'all know how it stacks up.

Apparently it's just plug n play with a mac book running Lion, the best part is, if it's as good as I think it is, I have $350 left to save towards my next purchase, an OP1..

Well I have been using mine now for a week and must say what a gem of a piece of gear, if I had one criticism it would be it's a touch dull in the high end, but that might just be my ears going I'm (48) but other than that, can totally recommend this piece of gear, 10 out of 10, beautifully built, looks great, sounds very very clean, works out of the box and it's designed to be very accessible on a desk. I might buy another and put away in case anything happens to this one, it's that good.

i love everything about the blackjack. i just wish it did 88.2/96khz. but even without that its better than alot of other interfaces that do support high samplerates.
