Traded for one AT3035, bought a second for $100...can't say there'd be a better pair of mics for the money!

Shakers, sleigh bells, and tamborines I find to be very handy on a consistant basis...and add a nice humanizing element to those "too perfect" sounding midi projects.

Thanks!

I was looking for a passive volume control so I can plug and unplug safely without hearing the big clicks on the monitors!

There is a used music chain in New England called Daddy's, I have managed to snag two used at $99 - only better deal I have gotten was a free bass, 15" cab, & BBE from FREECYCLE!

Soldering iron
Spare cable, and plugs of every type
already made adapter cables
cable tester
a full range of screwdrivers - flathead philips and pozidrive. (i hate screws that you cant undo anymore because people have used philips instead of pozidrive drivers on them)
allen keys - metric and imperial

Numbers depend on what you do but you will always need
Plenty of decent cables - every length
plenty of decent mic stands

Contour Design ShuttlePRO. Awesome! Also, magnetic channel labels. No more board tape!

Also, I'm kind of curious what products people are referring to when they mention >$100 power conditioners/UPS's. Is that REALLY something you want to trust to protect your gear?

I use an APC UPS on my computers and drives so that in an outage I have about 40 minutes to get them shut down

I don't think I have any outboard gear plugged in to them

That said, if a computer/external HD is a part of your setup then even a cheapish UPS is a useful piece of kit and can be had for under $80 so is valid here IMO

Point taken, but I wonder if the current supplied through that APC is particularly noisy? We all know that electrical noise can be a Big Deal for digital gear like converters, what effect does it have on the computer itself?
