echo audiofire pre8 and a mackie 1604 vlz

alright guys, so i recently picked up an echo audiofire pre8 and love it.
the thing sounds great and is no nonsense.

that said i have an older mackie 1604 vlz in the same rack as the echo....the mackie is just sitting there, i'm not using it in my current set up.

my question to you is what creative uses are there to incorporate the mackie into my setup?

thanks in advance.

thats tough to put into words. you really have to hear it. its amazingly rich and transparent. i hear more detail in the echo than any other interface i've used (motu and presonus stuff) the preamps are great and if you need to bypass them and use something better or your going for a different sound, simply plug in a TS or TRS cable rather than an XLR and your set. easy to use and sounds great.

i thought the TS and TRS still offer input gain?? that means the only way around the pre amp is to go in digital or add an audiofire 8 as i plan on doing
