But crusher for Pro Tools?

Does anyone know of a bit crusher type plugin that runs in Pro Tools?

Digidesign Lo Fi comes to mind - It can simulate low sample rates and other styles of distortion. Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but it's the first thing I thought of.

I don't think Digidesign has implemented a but crusher for ProTools yet, but you can try a feature request for it Feature Request Submit Form. I would hope they added non destructive but crushing thow

Sure they have. LoFi is a useable bitcrusher.

+1 soundhack.

just be careful when you use it, I would recommend automating the master bypass for that plug, or the mute for the track its on because there is an audible noise floor when working with low bit rates. I mean that's how it's supposed to be, but if you're not using that effect at that moment, you might not want that in your mix.

I heard if you add too much butt crusher you end up with not enough snap, and lacking in terror base.

Nothing wrong with 16bit music! Crush those butts!

The Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack was one of the best pieces of sonic forgery ever created, considering the limitations Yuzo Koshiro had to work with. And even without!

I might try and re-rip some 90's eurodance in 8bit, as if Mr. Vain could get any better...

Yeah, especially since I was actually doing some real sega genesis composition the other day. 4 op 8 channel FM synths rock my socks.

I even got a song out of the whole laughing matter.

We some https://www.gearslutz.com/board/work-...tcrushers.html
