I don't like it as much as the 160, but I used a 166 for years (reel to reel and adat days). That's a great deal if it works properly.

Yes.

Yes. Unless it has been in a house fire and the knobs are melted off.

I have a manual for the 166 with schematics around here somewhere.

Yeah, it's a cool comp. Not as loved as the 160, etc. But it's one of my fav comps. Easy to mod as well. For $45, it's a great deal.

Is it the black & blue version or the one with the rainbow knobs? The black & blue 166A is amazing and awesome and totally un / underrated. I use it every day.

There was a few people Modding these for $ so don't want to step on any toes. I've heard Jim williams mod is very good, but not sure if he is still doing it.

The 166 multi colored knob version is the one I'm refering to. Never liked the 166a as much.
