WHat is a "must have" in a studio

some clients persist in smoking weed in the control room
but hey its the Netherlands, and they are musicians (good ones!)
any case we have a spacious wild garden here outside, with a pont with lelies, lotsof wild flowers, and it is very peaceful

in this crazy overpopulated part of the world, a garden is what puts people into perspective with the universe and themselves

then they don't need to smoke weed anymore
but if they do, I won't stop them
(also it is legal to smoke here)
heh

A couch. Absorbs low end, and great for "producer" tryouts.

"I thought you said you were a producer!"

"Nah, just an engineer, but thanks for the in and out, love."

LOL !

I allmost busted out laughing one day when the singer in the band I was recording busted out some coke and offered me a line. I hadn`t even seen the stuff in about 5-10 years and it was never my thing in the first place allthough some of my friends were pretty into it.

I just smirked a little bit and said "I`m cool but go ahead". He proceeded to sing like a mother****er nailing everything in 2 or less takes. He was a little fat white guy that pulled off the best soul singing I`ve heard anywhere in years. I thought I was in Church or something.

Weed on the other hand I used to smoke pretty much all day every day like it was a fulltime job. Even more so when I started getting really into Reggae. I had to give it up though because it was turning me into a paranoid weirdo over the years.

I still welcome the smell of it in the studio though. I just try to keep it away from the equipment.

Duct tape, gaffer's tape, masking tape, scotch tape, board tape, and in some cases, magnetic tape.

So tape. Lots of tape.

Dirty magazines !
Classic!!!
I thought I was the only one who had to do this.
I used to work with a local band called Hagfish and they put porn everywhere in the studio. Floors, walls, and Ceiling. They also had a nudity issue.
Big fun.

Sounds like your studio needs the new Behringer 6 Foot Bong Pro C series with interchangable capsules, H2O infusion system, thumb carb system (with option for removable BowlinatorTM). Just don't let drummers use it unsupervised!!!!

A ping pong table!!!! Quite possibly the best investment I ever made. Espically when all we do is sit around and wait for 'record execs' to listen to the MP3s we sent them!!! And it's not like we're many miles away, we're quite possibly less then 5 miles away! Sometimes I hate the internet....
