Question MDR 7506 vs MDR V6

is there a sound difference betrween the two? v6 like 30-40 bucks cheaper but i read from people that they sound identical? anybody knows if there is any truth to the logic?

MDR-7506 has gold plated 1/4" adapter and alot more availability.

I've used both and don't care either way. V6 has wider response but its not like the 7506 aren't wide enough.
Save the extra dough and get the V6.

and check this out: Sony MDR-V6 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

mdr-v6 is the older version. 7506 has better matched drivers and more even frequency response according to what I read over at head-fi. Most people however, will insist that they sound the same. I have the v-6 and find it to be on the bright side...overly so...I'm considering moving up to the 7509 which is supposed to be an improvement.

The 7509s are overly hyped on the bottom end.

More so than the Q40's...or DT770's? (sorry, for being off topic)

I can't answer that, as I have never compared them!!

To answer the OP, I have used V6s, and 7506s, and there is no difference whatsoever.

On a side note, the Sennheiser HD280Pros, under $100, are pretty darn accurate.
