Cheap converters question.

When i do my mix with my Mbox, i notice there is not much room to do anything (like panning). I use Altiverb for depth, but I am wondering would a high end converter (like Mytek) bring more space to the mix? Or would the preamps do this more (or both i am guessing!?!?) I am using an Sm-57 when recording instruments (slit drum, metallophone...). Also, i am recording with an OmegA 8 poly.

-Thanks kindly

Yes Myteks will make a difference in space. And depth. And tightness and detail. But Crane song is even better. But way more $. Mytek is the best deal I've seen on a budget.
