ProjectMix vs. Mackie Control Universal w/ MOTU UltraLite Audio Interfaces

ProjectMix vs. Mackie Control Universal w/ MOTU UltraLite

Control surface + firewire audio interface
$1200 (or less)
Cubase 4 on Intel Mac

I'm making the jump fully into DAW and have been looking at the ProjectMix and the Mackie Control w/ MOTU UltraLite as my DAC.

The ProjectMix seems appealing since it takes care of the audio and DAW control and would only be one piece to troubleshoot, less cables, less desk space. The Mackie Control seems to have set the standard and have many internet fans, the design looks beautiful and has a nicer screen. The unknown is the quality of the digital conversion. Is the quality of the UltraLite vs. the ProjectMix close enough to not matter in this price range?

I know i could go down the road of getting some high-end converters but either of the above should allow me that in the future.

Thanks in advance.
