Is anyone using the D/A on the Focusrite OctoPre LE?

So I'm upgrading my "Studio B" setup, which is a Mac G4 running Pro Tools LE 6.4 with a Digi 001. I was considering the OctoPre LE (with ADAT option) as a cheap way to bypass the 001's D/A conversion. Just curious if anyone has had decent results using the D/A on the OctoPre. Are they better than the stock 001 D/A converters? From what I've already read, the mic pres on the Focusrite are terrible (as a previous owner of a Voicemaster, I wouldn't be surprised). So worry not, I wouldn't be using the pres or the A/D conversion. Just the 8-channel D/A. Your help is most appreciated.

If you've already got one lying around it would be okay, but if you're going to buy something I'd suggest the Presonus Digimax FS. It's cheaper, you don't have to buy an extra card for digital i/o, and the pre's are actually useable (not great, but clean and decent). The focusrite platinum stuff is total garbage IMO.
