OKTAVA MK-101 MOD

Hi everyone,
I'm starting a new thread about Mk-101 capsule mod because I didn't find so much info on the web. In the stock form the mic sounded rather good but a strange metallic ring on 2k and some boxiness lead me to try to tame internal resonances removing the internal mesh, the resonator discs and applying foam at the base of the capsule.

Long story short, metallic ring and boxiness are disappeared and the mic now exhibits a very warm and big sound.

I have a question for experts...While removing the resonator's discs I unscrewed the center terminal on the capsule ...Have I damaged the capsule? The center terminal isn't a simple electrode without any capsule tensioning purpose?
Anyway the mic seems to sound very good.

Thanks in advance for suggestions and reply.

Thinking about getting one of these and it's not unlikely that I'll feel the need to do the same mod as you've described above.

Unscrewing the the center terminal should be ok I would guess, or?
Seems like your mic is alive and well, right?

Do you have any pics of the mic with the added foam?
Not sure if I understand what you did there...
