Haven't tried this one, but it's cheap:

you could always take that pre and get it modded by black lion audo, suposed to sound pretty good.

Behringer ADA8000 will do the trick.

Nothing hits the bottom of the price range like the Beh****er ADA-8000.

If you buy a Digidesign 001 or 002R, you should get one free with purchase.

If you buy an RME Hammerfall HDSP 96/52, you should get THREE free.

No, really, you need to have an ADA-8000 for analog i/o expansion and non-recording i/o (performer monitoring sub-mix).

If you are embarrassed to have the "B" logo showing, take it apart and make it look like a home-made project product.

Cheers.

My ada8000 doesn't get used on anything critical but it is a useful box and when I compared the pre's to some of the cheaper stuff I've owned(Presonus, Art, etc...) it was right up there with them. Very useful little box. Behringer seems to either hit homeruns or strike out.

Sm pro boxes have a lot of potential. If you get the PR8E, you take 3 resistors (at least I think they are resistors) out of the circuit, and the sound of the box improves 3000%. Details on Prodigy Pro. They are trying to keep out RF and such, but it shouldn't really be a problem without them (I haven't experienced any problems). I use them for live gigs and have 1 box that is modded (sounds good) and the other with just those resistors cut (sounds fine). I cut the resistors myself, I have NO electronics knowledge.
