Question Cheap monitors and their thin, plastic enclosures …

Do those cheap enclosures cause resonance? Is there a difference with thick, rigid enclosures like wood?

Properly designed, an ABS enclosure is better than most wood cabinets.....

Most of the "wood" you see is MDF which is supposedly not a good material.

I wouldn't buy any speakers that haven't been independently measured, but I wouldn't care how they got to a neutral speaker.

MDF is pretty dense. Denser than plywood for sure.

Wood will change over time, as will MDF to a lesser extent with atmospheric condition playing a part.
Then there's the glue, or bracings and how those are assembled.

Decent ABS boxes are the way to go in my opinion.
