NEW Audio Interface - Suggest between these 3

Hi!

I'm looking for a new USB audio interface for my home studio

I really need only two channels for recording (for example two mics on a guitar cabinet)
I have a Great River ME-1NV as a Pre

there are my needs:

A USB audio interface where the pre are BYPASSABLE, so I can use my external gear without going thru another pre.

Great quality in AD/DA converters

Stable drivers with low latency
(my last interface, Sound Devices USBPre 2, was not so great at this point)ù

I've seen these three:

1) RME Fireface UCX
2) Antelope Audio Discrete 4
3) Audient ID44

What do you think?

Many thanx!

Fantastic latency. Clean conversion. Stable drivers.

Could be an option...thanx.

But I've read that you cannot skip completely their pre...you can only turn the gain to zero but the pre will still be active...I don't know if it's true.

You have a MADIface. I’ve used RME for 15 years.
Perfect, thank you!!

How is the quality of the babyface (pro) compared to the ucx and Audient?

And to my previous device, sound devices UsbPre2?

I mean in particular converters

Lives for gear
The audient sounds great and has good latency. Conversion is very good - nice and round.

t
usb has never been low latency solution when if you use the daw for the monitoring. That is why they have dsp mixers that turn around the signal or just mix input + computer return on a one knob headphone mix with fixed resistors.

On top of that, monitoring through the daw has always been a latency issue and can never compete with analog monitoring and dante/ip type monitoring.

Hi,

I still don't understand...I've found this on RME FORUM:

Re: Bypassing Babyface Pro preamps?
The BF Pro does not have a usual mic preamp. It uses a fully transparent input buffer which has the added bonus of adjusting its gain. Bypassing it would bring zero advantage, the circuit is needed as input buffer anyway. So set it to minimum gain and you can use any external preamp to color your sound.

I'm a little confused at this point...
It seems that you must go thru their "unusual" preamp anyway...right?

Anyway, inputs 3/4 on Babyface Pro are UNbalanced...
I'd like to use the Balanced out from my Great River unit
