Alctron MP100 Owners

I have a MP100 that behaves super funky and was wondering if one of you guys could help me out.

I've cracked it open and there's some very strange stuff going on, particularly with the tone blend pot on the front PCB. It looks like it's been 'modded' but I have no idea why, it makes no sense. Photo here:

Could someone have a look at theirs to see what is supposed to be going on there? I have a feeling there's a manufacturing error with the PCB that's tried to be corrected, very poorly. I've seen a photo of another MP100 with what looks like a resistor strapped over those connections which confuses me even more!
