Mic Preamp £500 sterling

Hi,

I have nearly finished building my home studio and would like some advice mic preamps

I'm looking at the DAV BG1 and the Focusrite ISA one.

I would like to record Drums as well so at least two inputs or 2 x one channel is needed for drum overheads....

Thanks!

If two channels is a must the ISA One is not feasible, the ISA Two is above your given budget

That's a good idea in theory but you'll loose twice the desk space and also because you're recording drums with just two mics the itch of trying to make it sound better will make you want to record your drums with more mics a lot sooner than you'd might think, and if you get two ISA ones what are you going to do for expansion? Just keep getting more ISA ones? Think into the future as well and consider something more future proof.

I picked up an ISA one for £200 a DAV BG1 for £255 and a Joe Meek VC3 for £75

So I've now got four channels of decent pre...I can play with...Drum OH DAV BG1 dual channel , Snare ISA one and bass drum VC3 for a starting configuration...
