Low cost ducking?

So, me and a friend do a radio show. Well just my friend right now but I am joining on next week. Currently, he does it with shoutcast, and two instances of winamp at once.

He plays the songs and recorded gimmicks on one, and talks on the other (or something like that).

I was wondering, is there anything hardware or software I could use to do ducking for when we are talking over music? I know I can do this with a compressor, but can do that live with cubase some how? I have cubase studio 4.

In addition, I have a rme fireface 800, and digimax, but that really doesn't matter.

(oh god plugging)

This is the radio stations site, Help me out and have a listen, but it might now sounds so good without the help part.

you might be able to feed all your audio through cubase and then use a software compressor to do the ducking and then just wire left right out to your broadcast and mix the whole thing itb

I just downloaded SideKick the other day and have found it to be a pretty effective (and pretty free) VST plug-in for ducking.

Don't know how well it works, or if it would work at all for your application, but this is pretty cheap if you need to go the hardware route:

Thats perfect. Thanks!

I didn't think that anyone would just make a "ducker".
