digital conexions and sample slips

Does anybody get sample slips when connecting via coaxial S/PDIF or optical Toslink?

Does working with over -12dB output via digital conexion overide your converters?

Just wondering if my audio Interface is working right with digital conexions.

How do you folks work in hook-up to your audio Interface, analog outs?

I get sample slips, a wierd werlling sound, and even drop-outs via digital conections to my audio card. Yes, sample rates are the same and my digital cables are new.

Thanks folks.
