Strange EV ZLX-12P Issue

Hi all,

I'm a one-man band, singing/playing guitar live in front of tracks-
all coming through a PA. It's a 'dance' show with dominant drums and bass.

Here's my setup:
All tracks plus SM58 mic - to Mackie mixer - mixer out (left) to Crown amp and
subs - mixer out (right) to ZLX (1) connected to ZLX (2).

No EQ.
ZLX's and Crown all have built-in xovers set at 100hz.

This setup has worked perfectly for 6 months (20+ shows).

Last Sat. night, an hour into the first set, one ZLX lost it's woofer.
I could still hear the tweeter but all other frequencies were gone.

It stayed this way while the second ZLX worked fine throughout the night.

Today I tested both speakers using a mic direct. The woofer was working again
but I can hear a tiny bit of distortion. The speaker is just as loud as the other but with
just the slightest bit of 'hair' added.

My first thought is a faulty xover in the ZLX.

I'm trying to reach EV/Bosch tech support by phone but it's not easy.

Anyone seen this issue before?

If you are continually pounding the loudspeaker with limiters flashing then you might have over heated the woofer voice coil and it is damaged.
You can get replacement woofers that are OEM.
