Not Eurorack, but I'm thinking a Korg SQ-1 for $100 would be a cool add-on for the D. Really dislike this USB-Midi trend tho.
I've used an SQ-1 and it cetainly works to program a CR-78, though you'll have to play a bit with the trigger polarity and the pulse width on the SQ -- the upside there's lots of happy accidents to be found though because of the way the CR-78 quantizes to 12 ppq. ...
