I can't wait to watch this horror film! Antlers produced by one of the masters, Guillermo del Toro. It's sad that the Covid-19 has placed such a damper on the film industry.

Here's the trailer:

Been waiting for Blood Machines for a long time and finally watched it. Don't expect much in the way of plot and you wont be disappointed, just enjoy the ride. If you were wishing for a 45 minute version of Carpenter Brut's Turbo Killer...well you got it! Personally, I enjoyed the visuals and of course a fantastic retro soundtrack by Carpenter Brut. Run time is a bit short, acting is a little stilted in places, but those were minor quibbles. What isn't a minor quibble is that this is broken up into 3 episodes on Shudder....WHY??? Anyway, this short film movie is like a mix of Lifeforce (Joelle Berkmanns will make that comparison abundantly clear) and Heavy Metal. Get baked, crank it up and enjoy the next 45 minutes.

I saw a French movie in the TV guide today - 'White Tuft - the Little Beaver'.

It was somewhat disappointing on account of being a family-oriented animal movie.

Me too- just ordered it from Amazon! Been waiting to add it to my H.P. Lovecraft collection of movies.

I really haven't seen many films for such a long time.

The Irishman was great though, I'm not sure I thought it was better than Goodfellas but it was definitely in the same tier, it could have been a bit longer though, he really cut it short in the editing room.

I have The Irishman on my watchlist. One of these days, I'll hit the play button.

Very old film, as old as me. Alien, just watched it on a projector, it's amazing how well it still holds up.

The Invisible Man

Last evening I watched the Invisible Man, 2020 version.

IMHO, I thought the film was spectacular with amazing sound! I wasn't going to buy or watch this film, but after reading some reviews I decided to check it out.

I Invited some relatives to watch the film and they were flying off their seats, lol

A+ for this modern thriller!

Im going to have to thank Synth Guru for this one: I just watched Mandy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Plot wise it's just a spaced out revenge story but I was thrilled to see it was done by Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow) and the gorgeous soundtrack the was one of the last ones completed by Johann Johannsson before he passed away. You may remember him as the composer for Arrival or that he was replaced by Hans Zimmer on Blade Runner 2049. This movie is a bit of a slow burn at first (it is Panos afterall), but it's all setting the stage for the horror to come (not a spoiler, it is a horror movie). It's tripped out, dreamy, otherwordly and yet, because of the time spent introducing you to the characters in the beginning, you actually feel something for them as the movie descends into chaos. The soundtrack is gorgeous (and I now own it on vinyl). I might even rank this higher than Beyond the Black Rainbow in terms of soundtrack and visuals. Panos's style is not for everyone, but I love the two movies he has done to date. He is like a modern day Saul Bass. Highly recommended!

Review Terminator Genisys

Remember folks pay for movies because people feed their families and work hard to make them.

I gave up Netflix because I didn't like most of the new content but I still rent the odd movie through Youtube.

Now for the review......as a kid I went on a weekend camping trip and all a few of my co campers kept talking about was Terminator.

Fast forward a few years and I finally saw the original Terminator. It is a mind blowing movie for sure.

Reviewers love Terminator 2 and they think it is the best one......me not so much.

What makes a Terminator movie great........scary holy **** moments......humor that just kind of blows your mind........a plot that makes every Terminator movie not a sequel but a new movie.

This is the beauty of the Terminator series......when you see Terminator 3 your like wtf there is so many new twists and turns it really is almost like having the whole Terminator experience brand new again.

If I listened to the mass media reviewers opinions I would probably never see another Terminator movie but they hated Terminator 3 and I loved it so.....

Here we are June 2020 and the reviewers are shtting on the last Terminator movie.......so that got me thinking when was the last one I saw?

I have to say sometimes you miss a movie because you are thinking man I don't want to be disappointed if it is bad.

So now we are at "Dark Fate" and the reviewers are tearing this apart....it is like some sort of tragedy in the world it is that bad.

So then I realize that I have not seen Terminator Apocalypse.

Something about me is that when most reviewers really hate a movie I tend to like it.

So you know that I have to just go out and see Apocalypse for myself.

All I am going to say is that Terminator Apocalypse for me anyways takes that beautiful Terminator formula and basically cements it for me.

The moral of the story is when you make an epic movie add some bad assness because you will leave a legacy that Disney won't be interested in destroying.

To me Star Wars...destroyed..........Star Trek.....not yet.....Blade Runner.......destroyed........Terminator.....victor!

So go see Apocalypse...it is great......some may not like it.....that is just my opinion.....

Queen Of Katwe 2016

Queen Of Katwe 2016.

I saw this on TV the other night, and it totally pulled me in.
Great story, great directing, natural acting.

The story of a young woman in Africa who becomes interested in chess.

Not the type of film or subject which usually takes my interest.
But this is well worth checking out.

Joyous, absorbing, human, a triumph ....

Star Trek Discovery is the beginning of the end for ST. It's the worst rated ST series ever made. The movies might hold up, who knows... but Discovery is total garbage- from characters, to lighting, to dialogue- even the opening music score is trash.

This evening I watched Hulk (2003) This is the original, there was a re-make in 2008 which is also quite good.

Great film, I saw it when it was first released in theaters and recently I scored the 4K release. Well worth it if you've never seen it.

Being under house arrest due to "My Corona" I have been stumbling through Netflix and Amzaon Prime looking for anything to watch.

I just watched Cromwell with Richard Harris and Alec Guinness. Somehow I missed this when it came out. I found it to be a very good movie. I cannot comment on the accuracy of the film from a historic perspective but since it was an English and not American production my guess is it was fairly true to history.

Anyway, very good acting performances.

I got to see it when they put it back into theaters for the director's cut when the Quadrilogy came out a few years back. It was so unnerving on the big screen, even having seen it a half dozen times before.

If you're into video games, definitely check out Alien: Isolation. It retains a lot of the atmosphere of that first movie. It's very uncomfortable to play. Truth be told, I chickened out about halfway through. The tension was just too much.

This movie is nuts. The Platform is about a kind of prison with many different floors where once a day, food comes down from the top floor and works its way down to the bottom via this platform. In theory, it should have enough calories for everybody in the facility, but in practice, it means that those up top get to gorge themselves while those below have to make do with very little food. It's got some pretty good twists and turns. Very well written. It's kind of like Cube, so those that are into that kind of science fiction will love this.

My wife's a huge fan of The Addams Family in its many many incarnations (from comics to cartoons!), so we had to add this to the repertoire. This version ofThe Addams Family is geared more toward kids, but what's fun about it is that if you were a fan of the 60's TV series, there are some clever homages to it in this movie. (As you can see from the cover, they brought back Kitty Cat!) Good time waster, but don't look for any depth at all to this one.

I got that game a few weeks ago, it's pretty good. I'm just after the bit where you first see the Alien. I got the DLC where you're on Nostromo and you can play as all of the crew I think.

You should try Stories Untold if you find that tense

I thought the Platform was about Capitalism and Socialism.

So at the start, it's capitalism, those at the top pass down as little as they like, then they try socialism, everyone takes their fair share, then there's the bit with Iron bar, when Socialism doesn't work as planned.
