.....well, i'm using kh120’s since day one.....and always hated hifi shiny genelecs....

so i might be the wrong person to answer here.....

but what i can say, is, that the neumanns changed my life....really....

no bad surprises since i work with them......,it's the only real nearfield you can even call a full range box....
solid mono mid.....exelent stereo picture....wide sweet spot....built to last forever.....
suitable for all kind of rooms.....

and they start to become some new standard......

i mix from deep rumble electronics to high gain dirt to scoring landscapes everything with it.....
and always end up where it's at and perfect.....

i'd always make the same choice again.......

and forget about these 7 hz more of range downstairs the genelecs are promising.....
neumann did such a good job on this fron bass reflex....you won't miss any low end in comparism.....

Thanks, very good info.
my worry is that they are very small, do they sound small as well? Regarding the bass , I read that they have excellent bass, on the other hand that they clip at very low volumes with bass heavy content, do they have enough volume?

Depends on your room size...kind of music you do...how loud you like it.

I would suggest to take the Geithain RL 906 into consideration as well.

Or also the KS Digital CS55-Coax.

Both with Koaxial Speaker which are wonderful for the near field.

Haven't heard the Genelecs. I too own the KH-120s and I'd echo what reeloy said about them.

Thanks, I read here somewhere that their mids are very forward, and i kind of dislike this type of sound, i like "bright" (detailed) type of sound, would you agree with this and say that the mids are very forward?

I can echo the comments on the neumann's, they really are the new standard, I've used them to mix lots of different styles of music, they translate extremely well.

Are you talking about the 8040 in particular? How long did you have them? Just curious...

There was a time when everybody had to have Genelec, Dynaudio or Adam. Fortunately this time is over.
