Eventide H3000 and SP 2016

Curious to know if the H3000 D/SE has any of the same
reverb algorithms as the original Eventide SP2016?

If not are the reverbs in the H3000 similar (in quality or
tone) to those in the SP2016?

thanks

Just got my answer from Tony at Princeton Digital:

No. The H3000 didn't have the oomph (or precision) to run the SP2016 algorithms. The SP2016 was a custom array processor with 24 bit processing, the H3000 used 16 bit TI DSP chips.

Still........the 3000 has some really nice sounding verbs. Not its strongpoint mind you, but still very nice. The pitch shifting is amazing though! There's nothing that sounds quite like an Eventide!

Yeah, I love the reverbs on my H3000 (d/se)... I think my
favorite for vocal is the 257 Warm Hall preset.

I thought it to be logical that the H3000 would carry at
least some sort of evolution of the 2016 Verbs. I didn't
realize that the processing in the two devices were completely
different animals.

old thread! any thoughts on why choose one or the other today? the algorithms for reverb seem more powerful on the sp2016, so I'm guessing the reverbs are a bit lusher or more detailed. I'm guessing the advantages of the H3000 are a lot more algorithms and fx types? anyone with firsthand experience of both? how much better are the sp2016 reverbs? are the converters the same? equally as warm sounding? is either 'better', or is it more just a choice of better reverb (how much better) vs mor fx?

and how do either compare to a Quantec QRS, original or XL?

Which SP2016 do you mean ?
There were two versions: The original Eventide SP2016 (2E) and the later re-issued Princeton/Eventide SP2016 (1E).
