HDX Omni - Lynx Aurora 16 togheter

Really want PTHD and got a great deal from our local dealer here in Norway that consists of a HDX card and HD Omni.

I have an Lynx Aurora and really like it and dont want to swap it out just yet. So my question is: Any one used Lynx Aurora togheter with an HD Omni, and how did you set it up ?

I've used an aurora with other OT interfaces - there's nothing to it, you just loop sync it as if it were an hd io, and that's what PT sees it as - a 16io interfaces (or two if you're in advanced routing mode using the aes io).

Just look in the manual...it's straightforward.

Using 2 avid hd i/o with a lynx aurora. Works perfectly! Make sure you have the latest firmware on lynx so the loop sync works.

Do I need a wordclock cable from my Aurora 16 to the HD Omni?

Yes and no.

It's exactly the same as hooking up a regular hd io or 192.

You need two Bnc cables, but they carry superclock, not word clock. You connect out to in, and in to out - hence the term "loop sync".

Agsin, it's all in the manual...
