Thermionic Phoenix

I read on an other thread that thermionic stuff can be difficult to recall as it can sound different from one day to the next.
Anyone (MEs?) find this with the Phoenix?

No it's good.

You do need to let it warm up though. If you just power up and go it's not quite the same.

But I find that with all valve gear.

Valves do deteriorate over time more so than solid state gear too.

I have had new valves in my Phoenix and MP for example.

Lives for gear

Hi
Valves want at least 20 minutes, maybe a bit more to get to their 'usual' running temperature from which they should remain pretty consistent.

Yep thanks, I feel my MP and vari mu need over an hour to really warm through properly, but maybe that's because I'm on a cold and rainy island in Northern Europe!
