apogee symphony question

Hello every one ,

I have a simple question regarding the Symphony ,

is it possible to have 32in/32out in usb at 44hz 24bits ?

Or should i need to change my computer and get the thunderbolt ?

Many thanks !

USB mode is limited to 16in/16out.. You'll have to go thunderbolt for 32 I/O.

Or you can use the Symphony 64 PCie card in a "legacy" model Mac Pro

How about USB performance with Logic Pro? I run large orchestral templates, and am thinking of a Symphony so I can use it with Pro Tools HD via PCIe and Logic via USB without having to swap cables. Anyone have personal experience with that configuration? If so, realistically, how low can you get the latency in Logic with large projects? And is the USB driver solid?

I was also considering an Avid interface. But I'm told that running Logic with Avid's Core Audio driver can be a painful experience.

Nowadays with apple offerings any of their new computers will be more than sufficient for running 32 channels via thunderbolt. I got rid of my old Mac Pro, had a new Mac Pro, only use my new MacBook Pro, and sold my new Mac Pro. Also running 32 channels on a symphony.
