Level Meter Universal Audio 1176

Hello,

I need your help!

i have my first outboard compressor. A new 1176LN. I like it very much :-)

But I noticed that in the course of time the level meter wanders from -1dB to +1dB. Is this normal?

Have you calibrated the meter?

It takes a little time for the meter to settle. In which mode do you use the meter? Mine is in gain reduction most of the time.

Yes, I have calibrated the meter.
I have it in GR mode.
It takes 30 Minutes until the needle settles at 0dB.
But after 2 hours the needle shows +1dB

Well, it is sensitive to temperature but really shouldn't drift much after warm-up, at least mine does not.

Check it in other VU modes.

Is it new? Could be bad solder connection or a power supply problem or FET.

But if it is working great maybe don't worry? However, I recently sent mine back to UA after about 13 years of use. They had it back to me within 2 weeks and the charge was surprisingly low.
