I would be delighted to know from the people who have one of these if the unit is connected the ground...
I have the only feeling that the two units haven't been used for a long time...
I already changed all the electrochimic capacitors.

I measured a bunch of exactly those Roederstein axial caps (which you obviously swapped in your EQ) out of my Telefunken M15 and they performed better than any other electrolytic in that format I had here to compare with - after 35 years of use. Sometimes recapping is NOT the solution. But don´t tell the average Gearslut ;-)
Hope you get your K&Hs back to life, though. If you´re from Munich - as your name suggests - then let http://www.hestudiotechnik.de/ have a look at your KHs.

I was personally NOT so excited to change them, but they exploded after few hours of working. In addition considering the price I paid for the EQs and considering the fact that the Ebay description was saying that the condensator are in perfect condition... The seller said I did a mistake connecting the EQs...
I did EXACTLY what he said!!!
Well, do you know where can I find these Roederstein condensators?

Thanks,

F

Yes, the description was suggesting "fully checked, fully working" pieces. Though old stuff is old stuff... even new stuff breaks. I hope it's not going to be too painfull for you. Of course you have to post some samples after they are repaired.

HI,

But if the description was suggesting "fully checked, fully working" pieces, it increase the auction. I try to react correctly.
But my lawer is already informed.

Are you the one who bought me the siemens Sitral?
Just guessing...

I've bought some sitral during the last two years, but I guess nothing from you. Thought I had very similar expirience with some of the pieces. Sold as working, but in reality they are barely working. Buying old stuff is risky biz... and I try not to be fed up, but siemens is much less $$$$ and shipping $$$.

Hi,

Thank you to have given me the website link of the "company" www.hestudiotechnik.de

The good thing like you said, they are just near Münich where I live.
I called them this afternoon and they answered me that they don't want to
make any repair cotation neither repair them.

I said I bought these EQs from a "known person in the Hifi world" who mentioned that the EQs come from "his" engineer who said that the EQs are in PERFECT condition with perfect condensator condition.

They said they don't repair equipment bought from Ebay.

The fact is I paid the high price (with the advertising telling the EQs come from a engineer who repaired and checked them) to get into such a situation and neither the seller, neither others "company" are able to be/work as a professional.

This mean, don't buy anymore Siemens V72, V76 Pultec, neither Neve or API because they won't be maintained by the "known" companies.

The question to know if we should buy equipment from these companies sounds also logical to be thought.

Regards,

F

I'm curious about these - the UE1000 mostly I guess. Are people mostly liking them as mastering eqs? Or for mixing on the 2 bus? Any particular sound source they excel at, where perhaps you'd choose them over other eqs?
Anyone work them into a particular place when mixing drums?

+ what's the high freq shelf at? I can't quite tell from photos.

Anyway to describe the difference in sound compared to say, pultec or Lang etc?

thanks!
