Eventide 3X00 Suffix?

I'm in the running for purchasing an Eventide 3500 B-DFX.
The 3X00 came in different models: 3000 S, SE, B, KS, D/SX, D/SE, B+, B/LT, DFX, DFX, B-DFX.
Does anyone know what this all means?
What does the "B" in B-DFX mean? Broadcast like DSP 4000B?

Cheers,
Exo.

Yes the B stands for broadcast, which means there is a set of broadcast patches.
The 3500 BDFX is considered the ultimate 3000, as it has every algorithm and preset.
It also has the sampling card installed, which adds a few new features the other 3000's dont have.
Here is a speadsheet of the 3000 patches, and note the 3500 BDFX has everything.

Yes I've got one, and it is the best!
I liked it so much I bought a later model DSP7000 soon after, but it's not as good as the 3500.

Glad to hear Studio Electronics are still repairing H3000's. Though you always want to buy the last made model Eventide H3000 which is the D/SE and D/SX and H3500 B/DFX or DFX/S etc. 1999-2002. Buying ALL eventides from Dave Kulka would certainly be a great idea and bought knowing your investment would be safe after servicing!

Glad Studio Electronics are still Servicing Eventide H3000 Harmonizers. Apologies nickelironsteel I stand corrected!

Hello all, we still service all versions of the H3000 and H3500 and never stopped working on them, not sure why anyone has heard rumors to the contrary.

nickelironsteel, you will get your unit back from us, no worries there.

Well, I stand corrected, I apologise 100% nickelironsteel. I was under the impression Studio Electronics were no longer doing H3000's though.....If Mr. Kulka and his team are still doing the Eventide H3000 series repairs, I can only say no better place to go!

Sincere Apologies!

As a simple answer, after 25 years I don't think I would trust any of the major denominated names in H3000 Units such as Kitchen Sink and others, simply as so many names have had different Eproms and fixes made to them that apart from Sampling and/or Servo (ATR Tape Control) Control units, often people buy units and what's actually under the hood is different from the SE editions etc. I would ask for a look at the Rom/Ram Slot and see which Eproms are inside. Rather then going on the faceplate alone! On the Eventide Cult Thread there is a List of what H3000 Denominations originally were!

I didn't open the machine but checked minimum 2 effects of each part of the effect list and it has 'm all
So now, I'm a happy owner of an Eventide 3500 that is fully loaded.
Unfortunately, it will take some more weeks before I can use it as I am moving to another place now.

Cheers,
Exo. heh
